Warbringer - Oxnard, California - 2/10/23
Thrash metal band Warbringer released their sixth studio album Weapons of Tomorrow in 2020. They are now actively touring and announced a few dates to start the year off right. One of the dates was the Oxnard Performing Arts Center in Oxnard, California. A Friday night was the perfect night for a thrash metal show as metal bands hardly ever come to this city. To make it better, Warbringer are from Ventura County so this was a hometown show for them. After three local acts to open the show, it was time for the headlining band of the night to finally start.
The venue had filled up nicely by the time Warbringer hit the stage. Warbringer started their show with Firepower Kills, the first song from the newest album. The audience went wild as moshing and shoving commenced in classic metal style. Warbringer plays fast and thrashy music and the crowd was loving it. Circle moshes were constant and not a dull moment was seen. Warbringer played a mix of classic songs and new songs. The venue was filled with thrashy tunes like Woe to the Vanquished, Jackal, Hunter-Seeker and Total War. No matter what song was played, the audience gave it their all and showed their appreciation for a metal band coming to their city. The final song of the night was Living Weapon. It was the last chance that Oxnard had to go as crazy as possible for Warbringer and they did not disappoint. Warbringer said their goodbyes and left the stage. Fans were seen happy with smiles knowing it was a Friday well spent. Hopefully it's not long before Warbringer comes back for another hometown show.
