Visions of Atlantis - Los Angeles, CA - 2/7/23

Austrian symphonic metal giants Visions of Atlantis released their eighth studio album Pirates in 2022. The album was met with rave reviews from fans and listeners alike which the album rightfully so deserves. VOA was ready to set sail and return to their North American fans. This tour would be extra special because it is their first headlining tour in North America. Along with them on the tour is the rock band The Spider Accomplice. The first stop on the tour was the 1720 warehouse in Los Angeles, California. Even before doors opened, a line of loyal fans had already formed outside the warehouse as they eagerly waited for doors to open and to see this amazing show.

Starting up the show was Los Angeles local metal band, Novareign. For most people in the audience, it was most likely their first time seeing them. Even then, you can't deny the talent that the band has as they started their show with Legends, the title track from their debut album of the same name. Right away, you could feel the majesty of their music. The next song was a new song called Sun and Moon. Nothing but shredding solos from this band. With a small time slot and long songs, their third song Black as the Dead of Night would be their last for the night. Novareign is currently working on their second album which will no doubt be just as good as their debut album. Definitely a band to check out if you're into speed and power metal bands like Dragonforce and Angra.

The second band of the night was The Spider Accomplice. They are a rock band duo from Los Angeles, California. In 2022, they released their EP The Venomous Montage. TSA was back on the road once again to promote the EP and play for their fans as well as make lots of new ones along the way. TSA came out and started their show with Enough, a single released in 2020. Their music reaches out to a variety of genres. One song will be rock, then the next might be electronic or industrial. It's always good to have a variety of sound with your music. Other songs on their list included USER, Crawl, Atmosphere and Fight. The performance itself was energetic and amazing. The last song of the show was Shards Collect off their EP. TSA put on a great show and if you see them come to your area, they are definitely worth checking out. They left the stage and made way for the headlining band of the tour.

The venue was nicely packed as Visions of Atlantis prepared to come on stage. You could feel the eagerness of fans as they waited for a band that's truly loved by their fans. The lights went out and the venue cheered with excitement as the members came out one by one. The first song of their performance was Master of the Hurricane. Vocalist Clémentine Delauney was the first of the vocalists to come out and deliver her beautiful singing voice. After her came out the second vocalist, Michele Guaitoli. Both vocalists do a beautiful job combining their voices and singing duets that give their music their symphonic metal sound. Going with the theme of their new album, the members all sported outfits to make themselves look like pirates. VOA played a mix of old and new songs. Some of those songs included The Deep & the Dark, In My World, Clocks and Melancholy Angel. During Melancholy Angel, Clémentine had the audience jump to the rhythm of the song as the song had been nicknamed "the jump song". The last song of the performance was Pirates Will Return. VOA left the stage, and all seemed quiet. After a few minutes, the band came back out for an encore. The encore was Legion of the Seas, the first single from the new album. Michele brought out a pirate flag with the band's logo and waived it in the air during the grand finale. The band members came out to bow to their fans and take a pic with the packed audience. They said their goodbyes and left the stage once more. A great and beautiful performance by VOA and it's just the start of the tour. The tour is still underway so if you see them coming to your city, it's a must go!
