The Coasters - Down in Mexico (Death Proof Soundtrack)

While ‘Death Proof’ is the lesser of the two movies in the Grindhouse feature films, that doesn’t mean it still doesn’t have some kick-ass music to go with it. DOWN IN MEXICO while starting off as a slow-to-medium medley, still has enough oomph as it gets going to warrant some dance moves and appreciation for the classics. Dare you not to visualize the lapdance given in the movie while this song is blaring. That’s the mark of a great song and great director: Knows how to glean the visuals out of a song that while not written for that type of theme, still somehow fits the scene appropriately. Put this one in your pocket until you need it for that late night hot rendezvous with your crush.
