SCARY MOVIE 2 (2001)

Parody flicks have been around for as long as we can remember, but there are a few franchises and names that are probably not going anywhere anytime soon. SCARY MOVIE 2 is the first sequel in the popular franchise that only came out a year after the first to capitalize on its success. Where the first flick was primarily a parody of teen slasher flicks like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, this one is more of a hodgepodge of random flicks from the supernatural, Exorcist, Poltergeist, and House on Haunted Hill realms. A decent amount of star power but one scene that makes this one memorable is a ‘dinner’ scene with Chris Elliott preparing dinner with a funky ‘hand’ before serving to anyone. Generally, if you’re a fan of the first and the sorta all-out crude humor the first is known for, you’ll prob get more of the same outta this one; but in terms of the franchise as a whole this prob isn’t one of the top entries. The parts are greater then the sum on this one; check it out for nostalgic purposes.
