Saltatio Mortis - My Mother Told Me (Single Review)

German medieval metal group Saltatio Mortis dropped a cover of "My Mother Told Me" last week. This song's verses have some historic origins, but it was originally played on the show "Vikings", and it has been made popular by being used a lot on TikTok, as well as several bands covering it. This one is by far my favorite version that I've heard. I love all the instruments they use like the bagpipes and the hurdy gurdy. They also have such badass heavy riffs. They're able to combine the metal and medieval elements so well and balance them perfectly to create a fantastic sound. The music video is really cool too and I feel like it illustrates the song beautifully. I enjoyed this one immensely and highly recommend checking it out. ~Gangis
