My Dying Bride - Macabre Cabaret

English doom metal band My Dying Bride just released the EP "Macabre Cabaret". Wow. From the very beginning it's absolutely fantastic. It starts out with a heavy bassline with an organ playing and then drops into some of the best doom metal I've ever heard. It's so slow and deep and is the perfect music to listen to sitting in a dark room staring into a candle and getting stoned. The only bad thing I have to say is that I wish this was a full length album rather than just a twenty minute EP, because I want more. I especially liked the last track, "A Purse of Gold and Stars", it's got a beautiful softly played piano piece in it that is absolutely gorgeous. It's also more dark and spooky sounding than the other tracks. This EP is great and I definitely suggest listening to it. ~Gangis
