Mixdown review for Artusha

Updated: Sep 12, 2019

Good Morning to all of you out there raising Hell with us this fine Thursday. Hellfire Brittany here, with a little insight in to Artusha's upcoming single as promised. I recently played “Zero Label” on the Monday Morning Mixdown in anticipation of “Inquisition” being released this Monday, August 19.

I believe Kevin of FYM Reacts will be doing the official release, so keep an eye out for that. It will be on most streaming platforms that day as well, so check it out.

The track opens up with some great guitar and drum work. It is fast paced and has a lot of fantastic energy. Right out of the gate it gets things started which is different from their debut track that lulled you in with some pleasantly smooth riffs. The drum beat maintains the underlying driving tone for the track as you get deeper in to the song, allowing them to show off on their guitars with some pretty fantastic riffs. The vocals maintain that same energy throughout the song making it a great song to amp you up in the morning. Lyrically, it comes off as an anthem of individuality, costs be damned. I am a rather peculiar persona and have gotten a lot of flack for that over the years, and it never bothered me. I was content in knowing I was the person I was, no matter what anyone else thought. This song doesn’t say that specifically, but it falls in the same vein and I dig it. The track is catchy and just heavy enough to keep you hyped. This two-piece band is giving their all, and I love to that. There are a few duos I follow, and I’m always amazed what they can do without a full band to collaborate and evolve. It doesn’t always work but when it does, I’m impressed. And these guys definitely have what it takes to make it work.

I really enjoyed “Zero Label” and this track was met with the same affection. It’s a solid single and I hope it is pointing them toward a release of an EP or an album sometime soon. I would love to see what they do with a larger volume of work. Be sure to check out their debut single if you haven’t already and be on the lookout for the release of “Inquisition” on Monday.
