GARBAGE PAIL KIDS MOVIE (1987)

Horror comes in all types of categories, but there are those films lucky enough to be in a sub-genre all by itself. Yes, I'm talking to the cult classic, scary-as-fuck GARBAGE PAIL KIDS MOVIE. Why? For one, do you not see how grotesque these things are? Garbage Pail Kids were created in the 80s as trading cards as a sort of 'riff' on the ultra kiddy Cabbage Patch Dolls. The Garbage Pail Kids were a combination of 'kids' with abnormalities, deformities and/or suffering a terrible fate with a humorous word play character name such as Adam Bomb or Blasted Billy. Wit h its popularity, was only a matter of time before a movie was made based on these exploits. No one can argue the effort that came about wasn't a product of its time. We got 4 foot tall 'kids' with oversized heads, bodily functions galore, some prison for 'ugly' people, and a neighborhood bully that preys on human kids younger than him that's it's kinda pathetic. However, we're all here for the Garbage Pail Kids themselves and each one has their own personality and trademark (a half human Gator, a 'nerd' who consistently wets himself). Even if you didn't own the cards back in the day, you owe it to yourself to watch a film that to this day, it's absurdness has never been recaptured. Check it out.
