August Burns Red - Icarus

American metalcore band August Burns Red just dropped a new single titled "Icarus" off of their "Guardians Sessions" EP that's coming out on April 16th. First off, I have to say how much I love hearing a metal retelling of the story of Icarus, which has always been on of my personal favorite Greek mythological stories. But even better, they used the basic plot of the story in a very inspirational way to tell people not to give up and to respect those who help you along the way. I think that is absolute genius wiring and a fantastic concept. The song itself is pretty hard hitting, has some fantastic riffs, and some brutal vocals. It kicks some serious ass! I enjoyed this immensely! I definitely recommend checking it out, and I'm looking forward to their new EP. ~Gangis
